Workspace Setup for Logical and Creative Thinkers

Setup góc làm việc cho người tư duy logic và tư duy sáng tạo - HyperWork

Logical thinking and creative thinking are thought processes that are both interdependent and contrasting. Creative thinking must be based on logical thinking, and to solve problems quickly and effectively, you need a balance between both types of thinking.

However, each of us will lean more towards logical or creative thinking to some extent.

So, which type of thinker are you? Have you ever wondered how a logical thinker would prefer to set up their workspace, or how a creative thinker would choose to arrange their space? Let HyperWork help you "sketch out" setups for these two groups.

Requirements and Desires for the Work Environment

- Typically, logical thinkers tend to work in fields related to science, research, data, paperwork, and records. Therefore, an ideal environment for them is definitely one with an organizational culture that values independence, with clear rules and values for them to strive towards and implement.

- Conversely, the environment for creative thinkers will likely be one of continuous exchange, interaction, discussion, and sharing. They prefer to create new things, so being able to converse and find inspiration from those around them is a plus.

Requirements and Desires for the Workspace

- Logical thinkers often prefer a tidy, organized space with as few distractions as possible. They value absolute focus when working, so they often prefer separation in seating and job functions from colleagues and departments.

- Creative thinkers will certainly appreciate a workspace with plenty of natural light, decorated with art, and enhanced with music, podcasts, or internal broadcasts during work hours. Additionally, they expect more freedom to move between workspaces (office, meeting room, multi-purpose room, etc.).

Not only that, but the physical space design often features an open concept. The trend of open-plan offices is becoming increasingly popular to encourage employees to communicate, create, and share ideas more.

Requirements and Desires for Equipment and Accessories in the Workspace Setup

- Logical thinkers might be interested in minimalist, modern setup styles. Each device focuses on 1-2 main functions rather than versatility or aesthetics.

- Meanwhile, creative thinkers will prefer convenient, more flexible tools such as a standing desk that allows alternating between standing and sitting while working, an office desk with adjustable length, or a large board for presenting vision maps and mind maps.

Creative thinkers, especially those with expertise in art or architecture, also tend to arrange and decorate their workspace in a more unique way. For example, arranging modular pegboards into shapes according to their preference, turning a pegboard into a PC case, or decorating according to a theme (holidays, nature, movies, etc.).

Note: The factors mentioned above are not necessarily characteristic or representative of logical thinkers and creative thinkers. However, these two groups tend to prioritize these details and elements to work more productively and efficiently.
