Northern Vietnam is entering a period of drizzle and high humidity, causing inconveniences in daily life and travel. For many setup enthusiasts, the question is how to properly preserve and care for their equipment, accessories, and other decor items when the weather is constantly damp and prone to mold.
Let HyperWork help you break down each area of your setup to begin the cleaning process.
Monitors, keyboards, mice, microphones, speakers, etc.
Electronic devices are what setup enthusiasts worry about the most, aren't they? They are prone to issues in humid weather such as short circuits, rust, and component damage when exposed to accumulated moisture.
Users should regularly keep devices plugged in on standby mode and, if possible, keep them active throughout the day. Additionally, you should place these devices at least 1 meter above the damp ground and 10-20 cm away from walls to ensure safety.

Use various monitor stands to elevate devices and adjust their distance from the wall as desired.
Setups near windows should ensure windows are closed during humid weather. Furthermore, some less frequently used devices stored in bags, cabinets, or corners of walls and desks also need attention. You can store them in foam padding and then place them in specialized bags for keyboards, laptops, or cameras, etc.

Sliding windows should be closed and sealed during humid days.

Mesh ergonomic chair
Ergonomic chairs designed with full mesh are much easier to clean than conventional leather chairs. This is because mesh chairs are woven to be breathable, preventing the accumulation of sweat and humid air. However, in humid weather like this, you still need to wipe the chair clean to prevent musty odors, discoloration of the mesh fabric, or long-term damage to the mesh, causing it to lose its original flexibility and softness.

HyperWork ergonomic chairs use premium Italian fabric, which better resists mold and stains. But "durability depends on the user," so you can diligently clean it more often in bad weather conditions to extend the product's lifespan with these steps:
- Step 1: Use a mini vacuum cleaner to clean all crevices of the chair.
- Step 2: Use a soft cloth dampened with water and wrung dry to wipe off any stains on the chair.
- Step 3: Dry the chair if possible, as allowing it to air dry naturally in humid conditions will make the chair damp and cause an unpleasant odor.

Wooden decorations or accessories
Wood is one of the materials most affected by humid weather. For setups using wooden tabletops, cabinets, bookshelves, wrist rests, or wooden decor, you should regularly wipe them with a dry cloth to prevent mold and termites. Wooden items also tend to develop an unpleasant odor when exposed to humid air.

A wooden-toned setup brings a cozy, luxurious feel.
There are many ways to protect wooden items in humid weather, but HyperWork will choose the simplest and easiest method for you to apply when you have time:
- Mix tea water and vinegar in a ratio of 4 parts tea water to 1 part vinegar.
- Use this solution as a cleaning agent, dipping a cloth to gently wipe wooden accessories, furniture, or decorations.

Regularly wipe wooden furniture or decor during humid days.
General hygiene for your setup area
HyperWork suggests some ways to keep your setup clean, beautiful, and free from musty odors or damage during the humid season:
- Equip a dehumidifier and add large desiccant bags in small, hidden corners where many items are concentrated.

- Avoid opening room doors or turning on fans; instead, use an air conditioner to dry the air.
- Move items to higher ground instead of direct contact with the floor.

- Apply wallpaper to prevent humidity.
- Prepare room sprays or essential oils to prevent unpleasant odors.
- Regularly clean and wipe down your setup area. Remove unnecessary items to keep your space minimalist, clean, and safe during the moldy season.
