I, and many others I know, have a strange habit of readily investing millions of VND in gaming gear, yet being "casual" when choosing a mouse pad, content with cheap products costing tens of thousands of VND widely available on e-commerce platforms. Cheap mouse pads cannot fully utilize the capabilities of the optical sensor, not to mention they degrade very quickly – fraying and rubber bleeding after only a short period of use.
Recently, I had the opportunity to try out two new mouse pads from HyperWork called FABLE. Two sizes are available: L (400 x 400mm) and XL (900 x 400 mm), priced at 350,000 VND and 590,000 VND respectively. The FABLE series marks HyperWork's first mouse pads aimed at gamers. In terms of design, the HyperWork FABLE features a minimalist black design, with no graphics or RGB lighting, providing absolute focus during gaming. Only the FABLE and HyperWork logos are subtly placed on the edges of the mouse pad.
The L and XL sizes of FABLE are also the most popular and preferred by gamers, but I predict XL will sell better because it not only offers ample space for mouse movement but also allows gamers to comfortably place their keyboard, phone, and other accessories.

How does FABLE surpass cheap mouse pads on Shopee? It's all about the finishing material. HyperWork's gaming mouse pad uses Cordura Advance Fabric, which provides a balanced mouse control between Speed and Control. When examined with a macro lens, FABLE's fabric weave is much denser and smoother than the cheap mouse pad I'm currently using. According to HyperWork, the Cordura surface is optimized for optical mouse sensors and various feet (PTFE, Glass, Sapphire), ensuring precise tracking and smoother operation.
With three layers including a top waterproof coating, a super durable Cordura fabric layer in the middle, and a non-slip natural rubber base underneath, the HyperWork FABLE boasts a thickness of up to 5mm, compared to the 2-3mm commonly found on cheap mouse pads. This thickness gives the FABLE a very "solid" and smooth gliding feel, and the wrist position when holding the mouse and typing is also more comfortable due to the thick cushioning underneath. The non-slip rubber base has excellent grip; I performed continuous "skill moves" without it shifting from its original position at all.
In terms of actual experience and use, with its speed surface and Cordura fabric optimized for optical sensor tracking, the HyperWork FABLE will be suitable for games that demand fast and precise mouse movements – the first titles that come to mind are Valorant or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Most of my time with the FABLE was spent playing Valorant with the HyperWork Silentium mouse, a mouse originally designed for office use. However, I was still very surprised by the "worlds apart" difference compared to gaming on my old mouse pad; there was no drag, and all my mouse movements were exactly as intended. If I had a "premium" gaming mouse, I believe the experience would be even better.
The waterproof coating also means you can feel more at ease when refueling with a Sting bottle nearby, just like in the old internet cafe days. I once had to sadly replace a mouse pad after spilling soda on it; with FABLE, I just need to wipe it clean.
In summary, the HyperWork FABLE is a worthwhile choice if you want to elevate your gaming experience, especially if your current mouse pad is a cheap one bought on Shopee. The smooth Cordura fabric speed surface, up to 5mm thickness, and waterproof layer are FABLE's most valuable features, making it an ideal product for gamers who prioritize speed and accuracy in games like Valorant, CSGO, etc.
