Many mechanical products and furniture on the market today use powder coating technology to enhance aesthetics and ensure product longevity and durability.

So, what is powder coating? Which HyperWork products use this technology? Let's find out in the article below.

What is powder coating?

Unlike conventional painting technologies, powder coating (also known as dry painting) is created using the principle of electrostatic charge to form a bond with the material or product being coated.

After this coating step, the surface of the material is heated to melt the powder, allowing it to adhere to the surface and create a super-durable bond.

Typically, powder coating is used for conductive metal surfaces such as iron and steel. Some applications of powder coating include:

- Construction industry: Fences, door frames, gates, railings, signs, etc.

- Automotive manufacturing industry: Car frames, wheel rims, hoods, etc.

- Electronics manufacturing industry: Refrigerator casings, washing machines, air conditioners, etc.

- Household appliance manufacturing industry: Cabinets, fans, gas stoves, desk frames, etc.

Additionally, industries serving agriculture and manufacturing also apply powder coating to their equipment and machinery products.

Although it appeared in the last century, it wasn't until the early 2000s that powder coating technology was truly considered a breakthrough invention, widely used in the manufacturing industry.

Advantages of powder coating

Why are many types of equipment, machinery, furniture, and accessories today powder coated?

- Powder coating enhances product aesthetics: Unlike traditional painting methods, which depend on the painter's skill and can result in cracks, wrinkles, scuffs, and lack of shine on the surface; powder coating, thanks to the electrostatic principle, creates a flat, smooth surface with even color that adheres firmly to the product.

- Powder coating handles complex surface shapes: Product surfaces with intricate patterns or sharp edges can be difficult to coat evenly and beautifully. Therefore, powder coating is used as a method to access such metal surfaces.

- Resists surface impacts: The powder coating layer has excellent adhesion to the surface, thereby helping the material and product resist scratches and withstand mechanical impacts, weather, or environmental factors.

- Environmentally friendly solution: This method uses fewer chemical solvents, helping to reduce emissions into the environment.

Products using HyperWork's powder coating technology

Currently, HyperWork applies powder coating technology to most of its monitor stands, standing desks, pegboards, etc., and especially the versatile Ivy storage cabinet – a product that will be launched soon.

This ensures that furniture and setup accessories from the HyperWork ecosystem deliver high quality and aesthetic appeal to users.
