How many keyboard sizes are there? Which size should you use?

With the development of electronic devices, various keyboard sizes have emerged to meet the diverse needs of tech users.

100% (full-size) and 96% sizes

This is the most complete keyboard size, including alphanumeric keys, control keys, function keys, a numpad, navigation keys, and indicator lights. This full size is suitable for new keyboard users (students learning computer science) or specific office users (accountants, data entry, etc.). This size typically has around 104-110 keys.

The 96% size is similar to a full-size keyboard but is designed with closer key spacing, making it smaller and more convenient for use, storage, or travel.

80% size

The 80% size, also known as Tenkeyless or TKL, removes the numpad, usually located on the right side, thereby reducing the size by 20% compared to a full-size keyboard. Users can opt for the Tenkeyless size when they don't frequently work with numbers, which helps optimize desk space and makes it easier to carry around.

Similarly, the 75% keyboard size was introduced – a compact version of the 80% size with reduced key spacing.

65% size

The 65% size further removes the Function key cluster at the top. Users who prefer a small, lightweight keyboard might consider this. Gamers also often find this size appealing as they don't need the Numpad or Function keys during gameplay.

60% size

Finally, the 60% keyboard size removes the navigation arrow keys. You can still type documents, play games, and perform other office and entertainment tasks with this size without significant impact.

HyperWork has launched four keyboard models: HyperOne KB1, HyperOne KB2, HyperOne KB1 Plus (with added backlighting compared to the previous KB1 version), and HyperOne Gen 2.

Among these, HyperOne KB1, HyperOne KB1 Plus, and HyperOne Gen 2 are 80% and 75% sizes, having removed the Numpad while retaining the Function key row and navigation keys.

Along with HyperOne KB2, Silent Key will be HyperWork's next full-size keyboard, featuring all components and key clusters.

Thus, depending on your purpose of use, specific work, and personal preferences, you can choose the keyboard size that suits you best.
